Goldsborough Hoard

The Goldsborough Hoard was discovered in 1859 during construction outside the north wall of Goldsborough Church.

The hoard contains several fragments of Viking brooches and arm-rings, and with thirty-nine coins. There are three Anglo-Saxon coins - the rest of the coins are Islamic dirhams from the Middle East.

The hoard dates to the early 10th century.

See the British Museum page on the Goldsborough Hoard.
