The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle for Anno 873 (actually 872) has the entry:

Her for se here on Norþhymbre, ⁊ he nam winter setl on Lindesse æt Tureces iege, ⁊ namon Mierce friÞ wiþ Þone here.

(In this year the army went into Northumbria, and took winter quarters in Lindsey at Torksey, and the Mercians made peace with the army.)
